Helga Jesser-Huß has worked at the Department for many years and, in keeping with the Department’s tradition, her research interests are not solely focused on Austrian law. Her attention was drawn early on to International Transport Law, a subject that is part of Commercial Law, through simultaneous impulses from academia and practice. Current research interests in this area focus on legal harmonisation across all modes of transport in a legal field that is complex due to the highly segmented regulations of international uniform private law. In the core area of Civil Law, Helga Jesser-Huß’s teaching and research focuses on Family Law. As such, she is co-author of the renowned Klang commentary on Marriage and Partnership Law.
