Mag.iur. Lukas Mische
Lukas Mische found his way to law via the detour of an ambition to study technology, but was soon reminded that his strengths lay more in writing and speaking. After attending a randomly selected course at the REWI (which later turned out to be a lecture on constitutional law), he finally realized that the fruitful application of an inclination towards analytical thinking does not necessarily require an understanding of abstract mathematical formulas.
In addition to the often cool rationality of law, he spent an ERASMUS semester at the University of Bergen in Norway, where he learned to appreciate the value of international discourse as well as cheap frozen pizza.
After graduating in 2019, he completed his legal clerkship and a postgraduate master's degree in the USA (University of Cincinnati) with a focus on US and international civil and commercial law. A lucky coincidence also allowed him to spend a year as a legal assistant at a major law firm after the LL.M. program and get a taste of everyday life as an American lawyer.
In 2023, however, he has swapped the American dream for the familiarity of his alma mater back home and is now planning to devote his dissertation to new legal issues in the field of digitalization and to make a legal comparison with the USA in this regard.
Final fun fact: As part of an internship, Lukas Mische once had the opportunity to study Austrian wine law in depth, although he still can't decide whether this was beneficial or detrimental to the enjoyment of the product in question.
