Dr. Meinrad Handstanger, Hon.-Prof.
After finishing school in Linz, Meinrad Handstanger studied law and history at the University of Graz. He also began his career at the same university as a study and contract assistant (Institute for Roman Law and Ancient Legal History and Institute for Public Law, Political Science and Administration).
He then worked in the Constitutional Service of the Federal Chancellery for eleven years and was a judge at the Administrative Court from 1996 to 2023. In 2019, he was appointed President of the Senate of the same court.
He teaches as an honorary professor at the University of Innsbruck and, since 2025, also at the University of Graz, where he previously worked as a practice professor for nine years.
