INTESTATE SUCCESSION FOR UNMARRIED PARTNERS AS MEMBERS OF A DECEASED'S

1st Austrian Inheritance Law Day 2024

Inheritance Law Day Vienna

On Thursday, 28 November 2024, the 1st Austrian Inheritance Law Day took place at Palais Trautson (Vienna) with the participation of Prof. Dr. Gregor Christandl, LL.M. The speakers and panellists spent the whole day discussing the fascinating topic of "Safeguarding the will of the testator - testamentary options and limits."

In the morning, the focus was on avoiding disputes after death, in particular through non-repudiation clauses, before the execution of wills was also examined. The afternoon was initially dedicated to the dynastic idea of retaining assets for as long as possible, before the limits of the law on compulsory portions were explained.

The successful event concluded with a roundtable where the speakers summarised their findings once again. We look forward to further Austrian Inheritance Law Days!
