Linda Rauter Prize
The Linda Rauter Prize is awarded for outstanding achievements by young lawyers in the context of their diploma thesis. At the same time, the prize is intended as an incentive for top performance.
In terms of content, a prerequisite for this award is an excellent performance in the diploma thesis with a comparative law focus in private law, European law or international law. In addition to civil law, private law also includes work in corporate and procedural law as well as competition law. In addition, work in international law, European law and criminal law can also be awarded, provided that the focus is on comparative law or European law. Tender conditions
The Linda Rauter Prize is awarded for special achievements by students in the context of their diploma thesis. The decision to award the prize is based on the assessment of the thesis. A prerequisite is that the content of the thesis focuses on comparative private law or European private law. All areas of private law, including corporate law, procedural law and competition law, can be considered for the prize. Work in European law or international law can also be awarded, provided that the focus is on comparative law or European law.
The awarding of the prize is decided by a jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Walter Doralt, further members of the jury are currently Prof. Dr. Erika De Wet, LL.M. (Harvard), Prof. Dr. Paul Doralt and Prof. Dr. Paul Schumacher., Prof. MMag. Dr. Paul Gragl, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Thomas Garber, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Viktoria Robertson, MJur (Oxon), Univ.-Prof. Dr. Hannes Schütz, and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Matthias Wendland, LL.M. (Harvard).
The final decision on the awarding of the prize is made on the basis of well-founded proposals from the jury members or other professors at the University of Graz. Proposals can be made for subject-related work supervised by them. Self-application is also permitted (applications should be sent to: walter.doralt(at)uni-graz.at), stating why the work represents a special achievement and is worthy of an award. The expert opinion must be submitted with the application. The deadline for applications is April 1 of the current year.
The thesis must have been submitted in the current or previous academic year and the expert opinion must already be available.
Prize money totaling 3,000 euros is provided, which can be divided between several works. The jury reserves the right not to award a prize or to award only part of the prize money, depending on the assessment of the submitted work.
Legal recourse is excluded.
