Maria Hermann completed her law degree at the University of Graz. Whilst
still a student, she supplemented her legal training with work placements at a law firm and a notary’s office, thereby gaining valuable insights into the work of solicitors and notaries.
After graduating, she initially continued her career in legal practice and completed her court training within the jurisdiction of the Higher Regional Court of Graz. The enthusiasm for research and the academic examination of legal issues, which had already been sparked whilst she was writing her thesis, eventually led her back to university. She now works there as a university assistant at the Institute for Civil Law, Foreign and International Private Law and, as part of the team led by Univ.-Prof. Dr Gregor Christandl, LL.M., focuses primarily on inheritance law.
