Marie-Sophie Götschl, MA (Law)
Even whilst she was a student, Marie-Sophie Götschl pursued her passion for civil law and, alongside her work as a legal assistant at a law firm in Graz, supported, amongst other things, the team led by Prof. (emeritus) Professor Peter Bydlinski as a research assistant at the Institute for Civil Law, Foreign and International Private Law. Her participation in the Franz von Zeiller Moot Court also enabled her to broaden her practical knowledge of civil law.
After completing her degree, Marie-Sophie Götschl undertook her court placement and worked as a trainee solicitor before returning to the University of Graz to pursue her doctoral studies. In her doctoral thesis, she aims to deepen her research interest in tenancy law, adopting a comparative law approach to examine how notice of termination for personal use could be structured in a more practice-oriented manner in Austria.
Given her many years of practical experience, she is particularly keen to pass on her knowledge from the legal profession to students and to work through civil law with them in a practical manner.
