Professor Moritz Zoppel, PhD, LL.M. (Cambridge)

Moritz Zoppel has been Professor of Civil Law at the Institute for Civil Law, Foreign and International Private Law at the University of Graz since 1 October 2026.

His research focuses on civil law, in particular business-related civil law, as well as banking, insurance and insolvency law. Another key area of his work is European private law, particularly the influence of EU law on Austrian private law.

In his teaching, Professor Zoppel covers the entire field of civil law, as well as private international law and commercial private law.
