Doctoral Programme in European Private Law
Doctoral Program in European Private Law
The doctoral program aims to support students in the preparation and publication of high-quality dissertations in the field of European private law. To this end, the focus is on promoting mutual interdisciplinary exchange between the participating doctoral students. They have the opportunity to present their academic work to a specialist audience in the doctoral colloquium. They also receive information on meetings and conferences in which they can participate and make contact with renowned guest speakers from Germany and abroad. This gives students the opportunity to acquire additional skills through intensive supervision.
DQ 2/3 June 2025
The Doctoral Colloquium on European Private Law was once again held at Seggau Castle in the summer semester 2025, this time under the direction of Prof Monika Hinteregger. The presentation of our doctoral students' dissertation projects and the ensuing discussions in this special setting were once again a complete success.
DQ Seggau Castle
The Doctoral Colloquium on European Private Law took place on 25/26 November 2024 at Seggau Castle near Leibnitz. Twelve doctoral students presented their dissertation projects on diverse, internationally oriented topics such as liability in multi-level marketing, official liability, tenancy and inheritance law as well as legal issues relating to gender and parentage. In lively discussions with the Institute's professors, the participants received valuable input for their research. The special atmosphere of the castle and the supporting programme encouraged productive exchange. We look forward to the further progress of the projects and the next colloquium.
